  • How is my monthly hosting invoice calculated?
Your monthly hosting invoice amount is calculated based on your Mining hardware's actual energy consumption (kWh) multiplied by the agreed-upon USD (or EUR if you are from the EU) hosting rate per kWh. The actual power consumption (kW) is measured upon installation of your Mining hardware. The amount of energy consumed (kWh) that will be billed to your monthly hosting invoice is determined by the following calculation: kW (power consumption) * 730h = kWh per monthly invoice (energy consumed) kWh * hosting rate = final monthly invoice amount. Why is 730h used in the calculation and not the number of days per month? The reason for this is simple. The year has 24h * 365days = 8760h each year 8760h divided by 12 months = 730h Therefore to make the monthly invoice calculation as straightforward as possible and consistent for everybody involved, each of the twelve monthly invoices per year is calculated with 730h equally. The result is the same as if we had used the altered number of days each month for calculating. We will adjust a leap year accordingly by adding 24h to the leap year's February invoice.
  • When can I expect to have my Miner come online?
We will only sell you Bitcoin Mining Hardware when there is space available right now or in the very near future. Therefore your Miner will come online and begin hashing no later than 30 days after it has arrived at our facility.
  • Can I send my own Bitcoin Miner to the hosting facility?
Yes, you can send in your Bitcoin Mining Hardware to be hosted at the facility based on the previously agreed-upon estimated deployment schedule.
  • What are the costs of hosting with GreenEdge?
Fixed Costs: Price of the Miner bought from GreenEdge: Unless specifically stated otherwise, the quoted price for the Miner is to be considered all-in. Meaning it includes the costs of the hardware (ASIC) itself, the cost of shipping to the facility, and the setup of the machine. First and last month's deposit: You pay two months of the estimated energy consumption (kWh) of your Miner upfront. Half of that (one month) is credited towards your first month of hosting your Miner. The other half is credited towards the last month of your hosting contract. For a more detailed explanation of the methodology, see the FAQ section: Why is the first and last month's deposit estimated power consumption different than the manufacturer's official specification? If you send in your hardware: We charge a $25 set-up fee for getting your Miner racked and hashing to your pool account. (There is no set-up fee if you buy your Bitcoin Miner from GreenEdge directly) Recurring Costs: Monthly hosting invoice: After your first month of hosting your hardware ends, you will be issued the first monthly recurring hosting invoice. The invoice amount is calculated based on your hosted hardware's actual energy consumption (kWh). For a detailed breakdown, visit the FAQ section: How is my monthly hosting invoice calculated? Maintenance Costs: Repair costs: If there is an issue with the performance of your Miner, we will take care of troubleshooting, and if necessary, because we can't fix the problem on-site, make sure your Miner is sent to a licensed repair center as soon as possible. If your Miner is within the manufacturer's warranty: There is no cost to you other than shipping to and from the repair center. If your Miner is out of warranty: You will have to cover the repair and shipping costs to and from the repair center. We will invoice you the repair costs at a 1:1 pass-through to what the repair center has billed. For more information on repair costs out of warranty, look at the FAQ section: What is the cost of repairing Bitcoin Mining Hardware? Hardware/Software modifications: The cost of such modifications is separate from your monthly hosting invoice. However, we are happy to help you with your modification request and will make you a suitable quote. Other than the above listed, no further costs or hidden fees (besides the declared payment fees) are involved when hosting with GreenEdge.
  • How long is my hosting contract?
You can choose your contract length between 12 and 24 months long contract. After the initial contract term, the contract carries on a month-to-month basis where it can be canceled by providing a 30 days written notice. Your contract term will begin when your Miner has started hashing to your Mining Pool account.
  • Why is the first and last month's deposit estimated power consumption different than the manufacturer's official specification?
Per default, we will take into account the power consumption specified by the manufacturer shown on the Miners nameplate and round up to the nearest decimal point. For example, if the nameplate consumption of the Miner is 3.36kW, we will use 3.4kW for the deposit calculation. We do this to create a small buffer range as experience has shown that statistically, the actual consumption on a Miner is mostly slightly higher during usual operations in the field vs. the advertised consumption on its nameplate by the manufacturers, often only achievable in perfect operating conditions. This phenomenon is especially the case for the Antminer S19 series, therefore, when calculating the deposit for that type of Mining model. We assume for the deposit calculation that the power consumption comes out roughly 1.5W/Th higher than advertised. Rest assured that the actual power consumption is always measured against the previously assumed consumption, and further used for the calculation of your monthly hosting invoices. Any surplus paid will be credited in consecutive invoices if the actual power consumption is lower than the estimated consumption.

  • Are there payment transaction fees?
There are no transaction fees if you choose to pay with Stablecoins to one of our ERC/TRC-20 addresses. However, if you choose to pay your invoice via ACH via Stripe, we surcharge you a $5 processing fee that Stripe imposes on us for each invoice. We waive the $5 surcharge for payments made above $1000. For Bank wire transfers, we surcharge you a fee of $4 per transaction. We will also waive this surcharge for payments made above $1000. Please note that your bank may charge a wire fee separately. When you want to pay your invoice with Bitcoin, the conversion fee is usually between 0.75%-1.25% as we use the payment link service by OpenNode. Ultimately we offer to split this conversion fee with you and only ask for a flat 0.5% of the total invoice amount. For larger payments where we may not use an OpenNode payment link, we are open to negotiating to waive the conversion fee entirely based on how the whole chain of transactions is set up. Please note that in case of a refund after payment with Bitcoin, we can only refund you the amount of Bitcoin that is the spot exchange rate denominated in the USD amount of the initial invoice.
  • What are the possible payment methods?
We currently offer the following payment methods: Bank transfer ACH Direct Debit via Stripe Bank Wire Stablecoin (USDT/USDC) Bitcoin
